Haines, Arthur A.: 4/14/2005

Arthur A. Haines, 78, of West Chester, died on Thursday, April 14, 2005 at his residence.

 

He was the husband of Anne Florance Haines, with whom he shared nearly 59 years of marriage.

 

Born in Tabernacle, NJ, he was the son of the late Ralph and Kathryn Haines.

 

He was a resident of West Chester since 1948.

 

He served in the US Army during World War II and graduated from Drexel University in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

 

He was a small business owner for many years.

 

He was a history buff and enjoyed travelling and visiting art galleries. He really loved the arts and the theatre.

 

In addition to his wife, Arthur is survived by four sons, Ralph Haines and his wife, Pat, of Atherton, Calif., Arthur Haines Jr. and his wife, Joannie, of Norridgewock, Maine, Randolph Haines and his wife, Terry, of Burlington, NJ, and Emerson Haines and his wife, Patti, of Willow Street; four grandchildren, Martina Anne and Elizabeth Haines, both of Maine, and Natalie Anne and Rachel Kathryn Haines, both of Burlington, NJ; and a brother, John Haines of Albany, NY.

 

Funeral services and interment will be private.
