William Bratton, of Carlisle, a member of Company A, Seventh Pennsylvania Regiment, in the Civil War, who was believed by his family and friends to have died many years ago, has turned up at Carlisle, walking into a resaurant kept by one of his comrades. His visit was the occasion of any congratulations. Instead of being killed in the Seventh Pennsylvnia Volunteers in which he enlisted, he was transferred to the One-Hundred-and-Ninety-First Pennsylvania Volunteers. After the war, he went to the West and all trace of him was lost.1
