Wells, Hannah [Van Leer]. Mill Creek Hd. 1801

In the name of God Amen I Hannah Wells of Mill Creek Hundred Newcastle County in the state of Delaware being weak in body, but of sound and reasonable mind and memory Do this twelfth day of May in the year of our LORD one thousand and eight hundred and one make and Publish this my last will in manner following:

 

First, I give and bequeath to my Daughter Margaret Wells my case of Drawers, a Fether Bed and bedding to be of any one of mine she chooses, Twenty pounds in Money and my walnut Rocking cradle.

 

Also I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Mendenhall a Fether Bed with Bolster and two Pillows, but no other furniture to F. Bed with my my Walnut Dining table and Five Pounds in Money.

 

Also I give and bequeath to my son Seth Wells any one he may choose of my horse creatures, with his saddle and bridle which he now commonly uses or rides with a Fether Bed and bedding with all my Framing utensils on the Place the or my Old Horse called Britton, and Fifty Pounds in Money.

 

Also I give and bequeath to my son George Wells any one of my two youngest Mare colts he chooses and Twelve Pounds in Money.

 

Also I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Wells my Mahogany Dining table with half a Dozen of my Walnut chairs, a Fether Bed and bedding and my side saddle.

 

Also I give and bequeath to my son Harrison Wells my Clock, yet to be left with my son Seth until the said Harrison arrives to twenty one years of age or Twelve Pounds in Money which he may choose when of age and if he chooses the said Twelve Pounds when of age then I order my said son Seth to pay him the said Twelve Pounds and keep the clock.

 

Also I give and bequeath to my Daughter Hannah Wells my Mahogany Tea table, six silver Teaspoons, my Silver cream jug and my largest looking glass.

 

And I do hereby Will and order that the Five Pounds I have herein before left to my Daughter Elizabeth shall be paid her in six months after my decease by my Executors, and the three Pounds I have herein before left to my son William, and the Twelve Pounds I have left to my son George to be paid them when they arrive to the age of twenty one years by my Exers and as to all the rest or remainder of my Estate that do remain after the afsd.

 

Bequests, my just Debts, etc. I will and order the same to be divided amongst all my Children Share and Share alike. And lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my afsd. Daughter Margaret Wells and my afsd. son Seth Wells Executors of this my last Will.

Be it remembered that on the twenty sixth day of May AD 1801 the last Will and Testament of Hannah Wells late of Newcastle County deceased was in due form of law proved approved and insinuated and Letters Testamentary thereon were granted unto Margaret Wells and Seth Wells Executrix and Executor in the same Will named They being solemnly sworn well and truly to execute the said Will, and to exhibit an Inventory into the Register's Office at Newcastle on or before the twenty sixth day of August next, and to render a Just and true account of their administration on or before the twenty sixth day of May AD 1802 or when thereunto lawfully required. Given under the Seal of said Office Bond in 1200 Dollars, Thomas Justis surely. [signed] Evan Thomas Regr.
